Insurance ServicesSituation: Our client, a Group Self Insurance Association (GSIA) specializing in Workers' Compensation had several systems to manage different parts of their organization. There was tremendous effort keeping data in synch between system and work was being duplicated. Actions: We designed tools for Underwriting, Claims, Financial Management in Common Thread (tm). The solution was highly configurable for each program and policy period. Several batch tools were designed to speed frequently performed tasks. We implemented Ad Hoc reporting around all major business areas. Results: Our client is able to process yearly renewals in 25% of the time as before. Commission Check processing takes 15% of the time before. Legal ServicesSituation: Our client has ~30 Attorneys in 2 locations in Richmond, VA and Washington DC. They needed a central system to manage Conflict Checking, Time Entry and Document Management. Actions: We installed Common Thread - Legal(tm) and converted the existing Client and Matter data from Timeslips and Amicus. Human Resources SolutionsSituation: The Human Resources department at a large state university needed a centralized system to keep track of Grievances, Consultations and Disciplinary Actions. Actions: We utilized the Workflow, Project and Contact Management parts of Common Thread to build a highly focused system that conforms to their established Grievance Management process. We also built reports to allow for deeper analysis of the HR actions. |
Manufacturing/Construction ServicesSituation: Our client needed a system to integrate the Sales, Design and Production parts of their organization. Since our client builds highly crafted timberframe homes, they needed a system that could track several elements of a project. Actions: We extended the Project and Opportunity modules of Common Thread to meet their exact needs. We configured several dashboards based on Security Group to help everyone monitor the health of the Projects. We built a job estimation tool that always uses the current pricing data and generates Proposals and Contracts as PDF files. Procurement ServicesSituation: The procurement department for a large state agency needed a centralized system to replace there paper based system. Actions: We configured Common Thread to match their workflow process. Each Security Group see a very focused part of the system. Activities and Emails are automatically generated on business events. Results: Eliminated the paper based system, improved team work, removed the need to maintain several spreadsheets for reporting requirements. Business DashboardsSituation: A large financial services company needed a tool to help understand Budgets and Spending. The key data was in 2 separate systems, an internally written budgeting system and Peoplesoft. The data and tools available made it very difficult for managers to understand their performance. Actions: We wrote import routines for the data from Peoplesoft and the internal system. Once the monthly data was ready, the system would send an email to Executives and Managers focused on their results. The email had links into the system to allow manager feedback and to preform additional analysis. Results: The system allowed the managers to perform their monthly reporting in ~20% of the time before. The company came in $12M under budget since everyone had a much better understanding on where money was being spent. |
